People of Faith Uniting to Meet Human Needs
Every year, Inter-Faith Ministries (IFM) serves thousands of people in need of food and shelter, the most basic human needs.  IFM staff offer the people we help encouragement, guidance, reinforcement and most importantly hope for tomorrow.  Hope is the inspiration that we all need.  Many of the people who come to Inter-Faith Ministries have lost hope in the face of unemployment, medical problems, poverty and eviction. Many are families who have become homeless for the first time.

Community partners, volunteers, friends, and donors enable IFM to help people back on their feet.  It is through one another that we help others help themselves.  Service to others is a way to acknowledge your connectedness to your God and to each other.

Inter-Faith Ministries also provides a variety of critical services to all populations in the Wichita community:

Inter-Faith Ministries Housing and Homeless Services

Inter-Faith Ministries provides shelter for homeless individuals and families with two emergency shelters and operates 104 affordable one, two, and three bedroom apartments. IFM case managers offer support and guidance to connect clients with community resources and to develop the life skills needed to achieve and maintain a healthy and stable home life.

Every year IFM shelters over 1,000 individuals, has an occupied bed 28,000 times, prepares nearly 5,000 meals and provides transportation for clients to medial agencies and community services over 8,000 times. In 2010 sixteen families transitioned into an Inter-Faith Villa apartment and received assistance from IFM case manager staff.

Operation Holiday

Inter-Faith Ministries Operation Holiday has been making the holidays a little brighter for thousands of people since 1960.  Providing those living at and below the poverty level with non-perishable food, grocery vouchers for fresh meat, dairy and produce, new or clean gently used coats, mittens, hats and scarves, and blankets.  Operation Holiday helps those who struggle every month to make ends meet and who find it very difficult to do something special for the holidays. This assistance would not be possible without the help of over 1,000 volunteers, and donations from individuals and groups of food, coats and cash.
