Operation Holiday
Inter-Faith Ministries has made the holidays a little brighter through Operation Holiday for since 1960. Families in our community are living day to day and when it comes to the holiday there is little or nothing left over for a celebration.
The food provided by Operation Holiday is enough for four meals. Each family can choose one or two gently used coats, a couple items from the scarf, glove, hat assortment, and a new blanket. Through a partnership with Toys for Tots youth age 14 and younger, receive one toy.
In 2012, for the first time teens, age 15-17, receive a gift though the new Inter-Faith Ministries Operation Holiday Teen 2 Teen program.
Operation Holiday serves seniors, individuals and families living at or below the poverty level. During the 2012 holidays Inter-Faith Ministries served 13,468 people through Operation Holiday. It would not be possible for Operation Holiday to provide this help without gifts of time and tallent from 1,709 volunteers donating 7,778 hours and the donation of 90,291 food items, 4,606 coats, 3,867 blankets, and funds received from this community.
Those who helped with Operation Holiday made a difference for 4,330
